Father & Mother Marriage Record for Jure Sanguinis

Post by JonJCurtoJr »

Hello,

I am having trouble locating my father and mother's Marriage Record. I have searched multiple years in NYC

Their first son, my older brother, was born in 1948 in New York (Long Island I believe). I was born in 1952 on Long Island at Brunswick General when we lived in Amityville on Long Island.

My father was divorced from his first wife in 1950.

I am not sure if my father and mother were married somewhere on Long Island or in NYC or somewhere else. They settled in Florida in 1960 and had family in Texas as well.

My father: Angelo Francis (Frank) Curto (born in NYC July 2, 1911)
My mother: Alice Isabel Hunter (born in Texas July 10, 1921)

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello Terra,

Thank you for taking the time to research this. That would be my father's first marriage. They were divorced in 1950, but my older brother was born in 1948 to my mother (Alice Isabel Hunter).

We never knew my father was married before my mother, so you can imagine the shock when we uncovered all of this!

Determine the location of the marriage: You will need to know the comune (municipality) where your ancestor's parents were married. This information may be included in other documents you have, such as birth certificates or naturalization papers.

With each inhalation and exhalation, the external noise diminishes, and the internal chatter subsides, leaving room for profound introspection.
