Gaelic and Garlic

Post by darkerhorse »

I believe I've heard more than once that a mixed marriage of Irish and Italian is known to produce attractive children.

I think there's even a term for it - "Gaelic and Garlic".

But I don't find anything much in an Internet search.

Am I mistaken?

LOL. We have friends like this (husband Sicilian, wife Irish). We know of many others. The former were church choir members and would do a meal fundraiser called "Gaelic and Garlic".

Maybe that's where they got the name..?

Do they boast about the attractiveness of the mixture?

They have 3 kids (2 sons, 1 daughter). Good looking, perhaps, but not necessarily striking. I consider them the brothers & sister I never had.

The mother is a clone to my mother's personality -- Just Irish rather than Italian...
