Since the description specifically says "chat and talk about anything", I'll respond. As long as you don't let it run your life (as far too many people do), a smartphone is very helpful especially if you find yourself somewhere away from a computer but you get information and need to do immediate research or simply want to look up something for clarification. Yes, it's a 2-edged sword, but worth it.
