Do house numbers change in Italy?

Post by rancelli »

I tried looking up this address in Castel di Sangro but the numbers don’t look like they go that high. Does the address say Via Civita ottantaquattro? Thanks in advance.

When I visited Castelbuono in Sicily I went to the address found on various ancestral documents. Later my relatives there told me they would show me the house of my grandmother's youth, and I said that I had already been there and taken pictures of the exterior. They said no, the numbers had changed, and showed me a different house.
