I did some more researching and found Ann Tacchi's marriage allegati. Allegati is a list of records they would have like birth and baptism and death records of the family before there marriage.

Now you know what church they used in Bedford England St.John the Baptist you could see if they have a death record of Antonio Tacchi might have his parents listed

You might find this interesting.

I recently went for a walk and popped into Foster Hill Road Cemetery in Bedford and discovered that the first person to be buried there was an Italian. Her name was Ellen Tacchi. Her grave was recently discovered (2016) 161 years after her interment in 1855. 'The Friends of Bedford Cemetery' have now marked the grave with a wooden memorial cross. Poor 2 year old Ellen succumbed to Scarlet Fever. She was the granddaughter of Antonio Tacchi who emigrated from Como, Northern Italy around 1800.

It was interesting to note that she was buried in the non-conformist (non-Anglican) section of the cemetery which was then unconsecrated. Most of the Cemetery was then reserved to Conformists or Anglicans. Given her Italian heritage and the fact she was buried there would mean she was almost definitely Catholic. She was interred in 1855 and given that after the Reformation there were no Catholic Churches in Bedford until 1863 it is likely she wasn't given a proper Christian burial. I have asked a local Catholic Priest to give the grave a Christian blessing.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and discovered it whilst researching Antonio Tacchi. My husband is descended from Elizabeth Tacchi who married a Howe and moved to Gamlingay from along his mother's line. I have found that Antonio's father was named Unk and came from Como in Italy too, my question is does anyone have any information about him? His death certificate suggest he was born in 1785, though 3 census records conflict with each other, with his age contained at the time for each. After feeding this information into ChatGPT, (4 ages at 4 moments in time) it has suggested the most likely birth date was between 7 March 1785 and 6 April 1785. It seems that he had a brother or half brother, named Francesco who was 4 years older.

Interestingly Francesco's son married Antonio's daughter. While this was feasible, and common at the time, there was dispensation typically required by the church in order for this to take place.

There was a line of Tacchi's which are in Germany, which seem to origininate from Como, so would be good to understand the link. Katharina Bolzano (states that she was born Tacchi) on 20 Feb 1758, so would be the right age for this. Perhaps she just remarried (and stated it was Tacchi) and was born with a different name. Is this Antonio's or Francesco's mother or Aunt?
