Alatri, Frosinone records - cannot find yet Antenati claims digital archives are complete?

Post by lyn1982 »

Can anybody help me find Alatri, Frosinone records? It says here frosinone digital archives has been completed: https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/archivi ... frosinone/

Yet when I go to Alatri I see no records before 1877 and I only see 3 years of marriages. So how can their archive be complete? Unless that many records got destroyed?

I am trying to find the marriage of Dominico Mastracci and Maria Salome Cici/Pavia. I believe they would have married sometime before 1880 as that is when their eldest known child was born.

Good guess. Maybe that's all they have. Our areas were close to the Gustav line so it is possible part of the archive went missing.
Only way to be sure is to go there.

Yes, the missing years should be because the registers didn't arrive from the tribunale to the Archivio di Stato.
They may have been lost usually for war events or fire.
The first copy however should be at the comune, you may ask if they have it or also their registers were destroyed.
