Re: Help Translating Marriage record
Thanks so much Erudita! Googling I found one of your prior explanations on titles
I was searching for the death of Giuseppe and Ignazio, but the handwriting is challenging.
Is this Ignazio by chance, I think I'm making out his wife's name Giacoma Colletti.

Thanks!

Re: Help Translating Marriage record
Diego,
Sorry about not previously explaining about the title.
Yes, the death record is for Giuseppe’s father Ignazio. Although difficult to decipher in the record, I believe that Ignazio also had the same title, and that it is abbreviated in the record, as he was also a blacksmith. Ignazio died in Prizzi on August 9, 1855,in his own house, at the age of 78 and had been born and living in the town. He was also the widower of Giacoma Colletti at the time of his death. His father was deceased Antonino Trentacosti. His mother was deceased Ninfa. In the record, her surname looks like Ferrara to me. In the index on p. 157, I really can’t read her surname.
The two men who declared the death were just grave diggers.

Thank you !
mmo had found the church of the town on familysearch, with the dates you shared I believe I found him there although in Latin (which I know less than Italian) but I'm reading Ferrara as well? I think
Right side of page (139) four down.

Re: Help Translating Marriage record
Yes, Ferrara in the church death record. Only additional info in that record seems to be that Giacoma’s father was deceased Giuseppe (Colletti).
Thanks to mmogno for finding that record.
