Moschino family

Post by sebastiancandioti »

Hello everyone,

I'm seeking help to find information about the birthplace of my great-grandfather, Giovanni Moschino. He was born in Italy around 1868-1870. By 1891, he had moved to Argentina, as he married that year. His parents were Giuseppe Moschino and Margherita Picco.

We know that my great-grandmother was born in Trana, Piedmont, so we started our search there, but no records of Giovanni Moschino were found. I’ve also searched the records of the following villages without success: Vercelli, Biella, Saluzzo, Savigliano, Montaldo Bormida, Chivasso, Moncalieri, Cherasco, and Racconigi.

If anyone has any suggestions or knows of Moschino or Picco families in other towns, particularly around Piedmont, I’d appreciate your help!

Thank you!

I haven’t looked so I don’t know, but you might try the state archives for military records for that area. If you find him and it will give you the time of birth, the other alternative is to find the marriage record, which was usually in the town of the bride, that will give you the town of birth of the groom also

Local communes sometimes kept lists of emigrants. Search for archives related to Piedmont emigrants.
