I know this is probably a dumb question but I am really curious. What group of people were responsible for naming the towns and hamlets of Campania. Was it the Greeks or the Etuscans , Samniti's etc? Also, at what time were they named? I am especially interested in Pontelatone and Formicola in the Province of Caserta and Caivano in Province of Naples
and the tiny hamlet of Caivano in the Province of Potenza near Ruoti. I would greatly appreciate any information . Thanks to all
