1888 Birth No 1: Gennaro Pasquale Martorella

Registered Sant’Angelo a Fasanella on 7 January 1888

Appearing before the official was Teresina Mattino, 34 yo, Ostetrice (midwife), living in said town. She reported that at 2.05 pm on 6 January in the house in Via Vicolo 71, No 8 from Maria Granato, a contadina (peassant), the wife of Michele Martorella, a contadino (peasant), both living in this town, was born a baby boy who she (the midwife) presented to the official, and to who was given the name Gennaro Pasquale. (Then is given the names of the men witnessing the registration proceedings.)

The midwife, Teresina Mattino, who had been present and assisted at the birth, reported the birth in place of Maria Granato’s husband who was unable to, because he was far away in the United States of America at the time.
