Has anyone visited Monteviasco recently?

Post by medicmandan »

My family comes from this area (Dellea and Cassini). We are planning a trip to Italy in two years and would love to spend a day or two in the town to walk around, visit the cemetery, attend a church service, etc.

It looks like a hostel opened in the last year that has a couple of rooms and dining available. The plan at the moment is to stay there.

Are church services offered every Sunday (or any other days of the week)?

There is a Facebook page for the town that appears to be very active but I'm not sure who runs it and if they're open to a multitude of questions from me. :D

I see that the cable car is still out of service with some talk about restarting it.

I would love to hear from anyone who has visited!

Yes, church services are offered in Monteviasco. While the specific schedule may vary depending on the time of year and special occasions, you can generally expect to find church services on Sundays.

The primary church in Monteviasco is dedicated to Saints Martino and Barnabas. It's a beautiful stone church with a rich history.getaway shootout

To get the most accurate and up-to-date information, I recommend checking with the local tourism office or contacting the church directly. They can provide you with the exact schedule and any relevant details.

My ancestors came from this commune. I was able to track down his birth certificate. My great grandmother a Dellea. My great grandfather was a Cassina. When they came to America, they adopted the Morandi name which was his mother‘s maiden name. We are all from Western Massachusetts. I want to visit this commune and see where they come from but those steps in my knees might not work out well. I wish someone would step up and help rebuild the road or fix the cable car.

I hadn't been here, but I really wanted to. I'm reading a lot of information now so that when I arrive, I have a clear plan of where to go.
