Searching for information on Great Grandparents - Genova & Piacenza areas

I am trying to find information about my great grandparents that came from Northern Italy. I have contacted a few offices in Italy to no avail. We are looking for birth information on the following relatives.

The information we have is from marriage certificates and some passenger lists in the USA.

Lorenzo Carillo was born in Genova. (b. 25th Dec. 1854)
his wife: Antonia Musante of Moconesi, Genova (b. 1864)

Paolo Ferrari. (b. 1861) we assume Piacenza area (Agazzano)
his wife: Livia Passaglia (b. 1871) Aggazano (lived there prior to emmigration in 1904)

Any information as to their births would be greatly appreciated or ideas on how to best search this from the USA as it seems next to impossible to get answers from many offices.

www.familysearch.org has lots of records but I see you need them for the missing period. Genova didn't keep civil records until 1871 and not all parish records are on film. You probably need a local researcher to solve this one.
