Hi Farassino,

Just thought I'd let you know that I got in contact with Irish Marchetti's who are DNA matches to my wife. They actually have a photo of Lazzaro with their Father and grandparent's.
Who was their grandfather's father I hear you ask? One Pietro Marchetti!!! Vincenzo is Lazzaro and Lazzaro is Pietro's brother there layeth the link!
Now I know there's always a chance that might be wrong but the evidence does seem to stack up to that conclusion.

What you think?

Hello there, thank you.

You’re on the right track. No doubt.
But still a mystery why his civil birth act has the name of Vincenzo and the baptism one has Lazzaro.
Furthermore he was Vincenzo when he got married the first time and Lazzaro the second.

Ideally you would still need irrefutable evidence that they are the same person, just to make sure.
Difficult to find, I know,
I also looked for legal amendments to the acts but didn’t find any.

Does Irish Marchetti have any clues?

Nope, they have no idea. They had lost contact with this side of the family altogether.
It's a strange one alright.
Maybe the father chose Vincenzo and the mother agreed. Then inbetween that and the baptism he upset her somehow and she said "right, you can go to hell,we're calling him Lazzaro"

Anything is possible at this stage :)

He is also recorded as Larance in the 1911 census.

Complicated individual.
