Help translating marriage record-Giuseppe Crescimanna

Post by italian059 »

Would someone please translate this record. I can read some of it but there are parts of it that I am very unsure of. I really appreciate any help. Trying to solve a puzzle here. It is the first record on the right side of the page.
Thanks so much.
Mary

Groom: Giuseppe Crescimanna (spelled Criscimanna in record), never before married, son of Paolo and Francesca Crescimanna, of this town

Bride: Caterina di Fulco, never before married, daughter of deceased Bernardo and living Angela di Fulco, formerly spouses of this town-that is, when Bernardo was alive

Thanks so much. I see a lot of different names after the sentence with Angela DiFulco Who are those people? Are they witnesses?

Mary

They were the priest and two witnesses. Ego Sac(erdote) ….d(on) Salvator Verro(spelling?)-translates to “I, father, Don* is an honorific title given to priests, then follows the priest’s name, Salvatore…

Sac is the abbreviation for the word sacerdote, which is priest.

The other two people were witnesses to the marriage ceremony. Antonino Gallechia and Paolo Pumara (this surname is currently spelled Pomara in Corleone).

Thanks so much. I have other records where the bride's last name was totally different but with same parents and spouse.
