Greetings and a question

Post by Nick »

I'm just starting to look for information on my Grandfather. How accessible are public records in Italy?

It depends.(location, dates…..)
Ideally we would need more details to look into it and give you a more precise answer.

Vital records for Varese and its province starting from 1866 are on Ancestry but you’ll need to subscribe to view them.

Many public libraries can provide access to Ancestry library version for free; it lacks certain features of the full paid service, but can be used to view most of the records.

Is there a public records office in Varese where one can visit to conduct research in person?
