Looking for Gianquitti family

Post by atyndale »

Hello. According to Ellis Island records, my great-grandfather Antonio (Angelo) Gianquitti came to America in 1902 on the Calabria. He was originally from Pescolamazza. His brother Domenico came to America a year later on the California and arrived in 1903.

How would I begin to find any relations in Italy?

Hello,

These could be the brothers you’re looking for.
On Ellis Island records they are aged 23 in 1902 and 28 in 1903.
So the ages match but they are written as Gianquitto and not Gianquitti.

Antonio Mario Gianquitto born on 13 November 1879. #116

Domenico Antonio Gianquitto born on 2 March 1875. #20
Married with Maria Addolorata Libera D’Agostino on 18 November 1900.

Parents for both are Michele and Concetta Gagliardo.

There are 2 listings for surname Gianguitto in the town of Pesco Sannita (formally Pescolamazza) in the Italian phonebook. These are landlines only, but the listing includes current addresses. You may wish to write to these "potential relatives" and inquiry of your ancestors and they descendants.

NOTE: There are no listings for the surname Gianquitti
