Anyone know the meaning of the codes for "Designator" (1109) and "Retirement Type" (12) for Stephen Guarino on this U.S. Navy Registry?

Just in case you didn't notice... The years of birth (last column after year of rank) for these two Stephen Guarinos are different from the Stephen Guarino you have been researching.

You have a good eye. The correct year of birth for the Stephen Guarino I've been researching is 1910. For some reason (clerical error or intentional) his year of birth was reported as 1907 on his application for Seaman's Certificate in 1929. Other documents with his service number confirm it's the same man. But thanks for pointing it out, as it could have been problematic. Please continue to raise such issues, it's helpful.
