Ships Manifest - Mauro/Gagliardo

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Ships Manifest - Mauro/Gagliardo

Post by yandle »

I have a copy of a very old passport for grandmother, Girolama Mauro issued on August 15, 1889 (but the date is hard to read) in Corleone (born 1864, daughter of Angelo) authorizing her to travel to New Orleans with her daughter, Gaetana Gagliardo (daughter of Giuseppe). I have seen it spelled Guagliardo also. I do not know if Giuseppe traveled with them also or had already immigrated. I am unable to find them on ship manifest. Any help would be appreciated.
