This record is for a male infant born without life. Appearing were two declarants-Pasquale Ambruoso, age 32, day laborer, and Caterina Mascolo, age 60, midwife, both living in Scafati. They presented the infant who had been born without life on the 5th of November, 1865 at 3 in the night to spouses Pasquale Ambruoso and Giuseppa Catalano. After the official confirmed that the baby was without life, the present act was recorded in two registers after giving a reading of it to the declarants. Only the mayor signed the act, as the declarants did not know how to write.

The record is dated in Scafati Nov 6, 1865 at 11 P.M. No name was given to the lifeless baby.

Thanks so much for the comments in this thread for translating death diversi documents. Such an important element of putting together family histories. I know from experience how difficult it is to do your own Italian genealogy research and getting reliable translations was vital to comprehending my ancestors’ life.
