New York Times

Post by PaulaMT »

Does any one have access to The New York Times Achives....
I tryed looking on there site.. and am willing to pay them... but can't find exactly what I'm looking for...

The cover was my Great Great Grandfather Clito Raimond or Raimondi he was called the "Sausage King" and the cover featured his photo and a bridge of Sausages from NY to Italy...

I remember seeing it somewhere... and didn't know it was a conection....

Please any advise???

Clito? Not familiar with this name...

Did he have another given name?

Or is that the surname.... either way... results " 0" .... doing a search through Ancestry. com...

Thought I would do a search for any newspaper clippings... but nothing on your G2 Grandfather.

Sounds like a very interesting Great Great Grandfather.... hope someone has the front cover in a frame...

no... no additional names.. I know he traveled the world.. his daughter Olga my great grandmother spoke 4 or 5 langues. The Raimond or Raimondi roots are in germany... and they ended up in Bologna. they were also grafs (counts with Frederick the second of Haunstauffen. Frederick's ruling house was sent to Sicily circa late 1700 early 1800. The original name was Von Reymundt

anyway I remember seeing the cover online... and thinking no way ... but I found out... yes it is part of my family.... so I was just trying my best to get a copy for my tree...

Hello again...

I was able to do a search here.... (for articles...)

New York Times archives link

But I got a few results... not sure if they were for your G2 Grandfather....

So I did a search for Clito Raimond or Raimondi.. with zero results....

You can subscribe for free - but for a short time only...

Free trial subscription...

Here's another link

Would a library somewhere have access to a computer with a subscription?

Hi Paul & Esperanza,

I also searched the New Yorks Archives & here...

http://news.google.com/archivesearch

with no results (last site comes up with a "sausage king" sentenced to death in San Francesco). My only suggestion would be to write to the New York Times. They probable have an archivist that does research.
