Places in Italy-need help
I had posted a query to your site a while back-surname was Busardo. I have recently come across documents online and I have been trying to decipher the handwriting. Is there place in Italy called Palarbo (or was that a typo for Palermo?)? I also have an address which looks like 32 Como Tuhory (with 2 dots over the o) in Palermo? I have been trying to find out where my grandfather, Vincent Busardo (born in 1883, son of Giovanni Busardo & Grazia Gianni) lived in Italy. Any help would be appreciated. thank you.
Re: Places in Italy-need help
When I type Palarbo into Google it gives no returns. It only asks "Did you mean Palermo?" Try it yourself but to me this means there is no such place as Palarbo in Italy. Further when I typed the Surname Busardo into the Family Search Website I get a list of Busardos who lived in Palermo, Palermo Italy. So that's Palermo City in Palermo Provence. Which is not a guantee that your family was from there but still it's a clue of sorts.joansie wrote:I had posted a query to your site a while back-surname was Busardo. Family Search is here: http://www.familysearch.org/
Also go here and type the surname in the box that says "cognome" to see where a lot of people named Busardo live in Italy .

Others here can maybe give you more specific information.

Okay that link was wrong too. But anyway I did it myself and it is showing a very few Busardos all in the city of Palermo! Try this link and see for yourself.

I typed the word Tuhory into Google and it is a place name in the outskirts of Palermo called Tuhory Barracks in English. Caserma Tuhory in Italian. Above is the link for the translated page.

To Graffeo & Suanji, I am just reading for the first time your replies. Thank you both so much for your time and efforts and making this address much clearer to me. Now I understand that Palermo is also a city and a provence and the family is probably from there originally. Thank you. I also think that Tukory is what I am looking for and now I also know that Corso means "avenue". Thanks also for google translate site.
