Hello, my name is Sarah, and I've been trying to do research on my Italian ancestors. My Grandmother I believe is full-blooded Italian, her father being Anthony Giannoni and her Mother, Carolyn Moscarella. Trouble is, I'm up against a wall now and don't know what I should do to go further. My grandmother can't tell me much. Where in Italy were these people, when did they come over, and etc. I believe her parents were both from New Jersey and New York. How do I go about finding the information I need? Would anyone here be a relation in any way? Carolyn Moscarella had a brother named Richard I believe, but everyone called him Dick.
Thanks for any help you can give!! It's appreciated so much.

Sarah there is one Antonio Giannoni who entered the USA at NYC in 1907 at age 17 (he was born 1890) in a place called Piana Greci, Italy. If you go to www.ellisialdn.oirg you can look him up thyere. He was destined to his relative Cristofaro Cucciare in either NY or NJ. Is this person deceased and, if so, did he pass on after 1963.? Peter

Hi, Peter, thanks for responding. I talked to my grandmother about Antonio, and found out she knows precious little about him, as he left his family soon after his 2 daughters were born. (all she knows is what she found out from her sister, he was wealthy, and he was handsome. :-p) She never remembered her father, but her sister met him when she grew up, and I'm going to try to contact her to find out more info. She thinks the information sounded right though, what you gave me. I'll find out and let you know. Thanks again!
