DeMeo-Esposito lets find them 1st

Post by findtheForesi »

Grandma Nellie"Nicolina" DeMeo;
She passed on 6-10-1968. documents say she was born in Schenectady NY 7-1-1895
At some point Grandpa "Dominic Esposito" divorced and may have move to Hartford CT. our family heard he got maried again..Most of Nellies children were sent to the boarding school of the times: St Francis Asylum @ New Haven CT! One of them was my father "Vincent Esposito" He and his brothers had some great stories to tell about the era. Mostly it was not a cake walk. For Xmas they got an orange and a slice of toast with a bit of honey..The Catholic Diocese and the Nuns did great with him and his brothers though..and along with the great teachings Dad learned how to play the violin there! Great fun for our family to hear this on the holidays! No easy task! If anyone thinks they can connect some dots I look forward to hear from you!
Searching for cugini in Italy! Vitulano, Ciazzo, Ruviano, Casertta, Corridonia Macerata.
Our Family would love to connect with cousins should they be interested. Foresi-Pannone-DiMeo-Esposito

I am soo happy to see this info!! It sounds correct and I do remember him living in Bridgeport CT also! this is going up on the walls this weekend!
Father Al had a very kind and compasionate Heart! I also remember him showing the family all his pictures of his younger days and enjoying various sports like track and field and baseball! The misspelled sirnames have been challange for me on my searches.
I really would love to Find some of my Moms parents info. Given she does not know where they were from and and her sisters never share the info.! We only have a pic of MariAngela Forese/Pammone head stone! Which I can put on the site here! It is intersting as they put a cameo type pic of her on the head stone. The only picture she has of her! She passed away on 11-14-1932 the hsbn was Joesph Forese death date 8-12-1951 the 1930 Fairfield CT census shows them as Giuseppe, Mari, Margaret and mentions those I grew up with: Rose, Stella, Katherine, Louis cant read the oldest ones name.

Hi, I'm glad we found Father Al for you :D .
It appears the family may have moved from NY
to CT before he was born in 1902?
Do you know Nellie's sister's names?
May help us find her family on a census.
No luck so far using the brother's names...

I agree, for your Foresi/e, Paommone family
I'd start another post.
You may want to keep them separate for clarity.

I agree! That was fun to see!
Mom and I recently found the funeral home info. Bpt. obit june 10 1968 says: Mary Zackero, Elisabeth (Betty) Thornton, Rose Russo and Jean Varrone, All out of Fairfield County, in spirte and memory Now!
We have all met at the various family gathering in the past! A quote from my sister! "We all peel our own Bananna in Life" Which is one reason why we get out of touch!
Thanks for the organizational advise..I have an old Fam. Tree program which I will upgrade. As I read on this site that it is still user friendly.. I hope others are seeing this as I sure am enlightend with it all!! Thanks sooooo much!!

Know what you mean about the factory.
My family was pretty easy to track down in
Trenton because of the JA Roebling rope/wire
factory. Same thing, children lived at home
into young adulthood contributing their earnings
to home ownership. The history of these (& many other)
manufacturing towns can make fascinating reading.
It really helps put family history into perspective.
