Can anyone tell me where I could find a list of names of Officers of Garabaldis army pre Unification of Italy. I know there were quite a few that deserted about 19 March 1849. Also that these Officers were men from the families of the nobility.

My apologies for not replying sooner. I had to wait for a reply from a contact to check this out.
I had made a mistake it was not Massizini, it was Angelo de Massina who was in charge of Lancer Neopolitan Army who received the letter from Garibaldi praising his Lancers for defending Rome. This date was 10 days after Officers had deserted. Angelo de Massina received this letter on 29 March.
