Contempory knighthood in Italy

Found this interesting article

Now, my great grandfather was a knight of the order of vittorio venetto, so i am wondering, as a direct decendant, do I inherit this title, and would I be entitled to use the title Cavaliere?

The title of Knight of Vittorio Veneto is not inheritable.
It was given to who fought hardly during WWI in order to get pieces of land from Austrian-Hungarian empire
Here there is the law (translate it by altavista babelfish)

hmm, still nothing in there to say it's not able to be inherited.

If you read the link I posted, in many parts of italy it mentions "theres a knight or a noble in every cafe"

Do you think a lot of it could be people not realising that they are not entitled to use thier ancestors knighthood?

Nice to know though, my great grandfather was a "Knight" in the eyes of the Italian Government.
