I have e-mailed the Mayor, and registrar of Sciacca Sicily a number of times I used the link on the Sciacca Commune website. Have requested information regarding my Grandparents and Great Grandparents. I will be visiting Sciacca in October and would like to do some research. I have not recieved any response. I have used the letter in Italian that was posted on this site. Should I send a letter regular mail? I have offered to pay any fee required to get copies of documents I want if they exsist. Any suggestions?
Also I know the church that my Grandmother was baptised. I have a copy of both her birth certificate and baptism record. I would like copies of her brothers baptism records as well. Should I write to the church directly or is there a main diocese for the province I should write? Any information would be helpful. Thanks
Sciacca Mayor and response to email
Re: Sciacca Mayor and response to email
for first question: knowing that they no reply, send a fax... or a registered letter...
for the second question, it is very hard...because it are necessary a search and the priest don't love it, but in October you can ask it directly to priest .. maybe with a donation.. it will be better... regards, suanj
