Dominico Brentani (b.1813 Italy)

Hi All,
I have England census records showing my gg-grandfather to be Dominico Brentani, born about 1813 in Italy. He married an English girl called Eliza (although I cannot find any marriage details in the UK Indexes) and they lived and brought up their family in Sheffield, England. Dominico was a Pork Butcher.
I have no other information on my Italian ancestors and I don't know how/where to start looking!
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Joe,

Do you know where your gg grandfather is buried? If you can find out which funeral home and/or church he and his family attended you can request records for his burial. They will usually contain his town and country of birth as well has his parents full names.

I'm not familiar with UK burial customs, but it might be worth a try.

Here is a site for surnames. Put his surname in for each region of Italy and it will tell you if there are any Brentani's there and how many.

Is this the Brentani you are looking for? I found English death record for him, 1841 and 1851 English Census showing his family.
