Dear Livio I just entered the website in my address bar and up comes google with the website name starting with LETRA A and when you click that up comes Listado de Comunas y Frazioni in Spanish. The rest is alphabet selection.

Tha Amassari is taken from a Sicilian short story making use of immigrant english reflecting Italian-American foibles. =Peter=

Great site. but I had to use vj'sj link to ge to it.

Peter, we had a whole strand dealing with Italio-American mispronounciations, but it is difficult if you are dealing with a second language to understand all the nuances. I am sure I miss a lot of the Italian interplay on this site, but I try to keep up. For Livio's benefit, an old thread.

Me too!!! I came across the spanish language comunas site via South American websites a long time ago. I never went fishing for any other link and I was always able to bring it up.

Livio claims he is a veteran and so I assumed he was an expatriate American living abroad. But now I see that the designation is more bells,clangs and whistles in the forum that did not exist when the forum was young, sad and a lot less professional.

I was being jocular never thinking that he would not understand and had you read the Story in Sicilian as I did (it is only a dialect because Toscana dialect was chosen as the official language making Sicilian a dialect along with Venetian and other fully developed dialects) you would have never forgotten the cause for the "amassari" in the story line.
