Hello
My name is Robert Campiciano (Campisciano) I reside in Australia.
I have traced the origins of my family to Chiusa Sclafani.
In Chiusa Sclafani there are 2 families that claim not to be related to each other, I did establish one of them to be related to me.
I am able to locate records from Contessa Entellina with links back to Chiusa Sclafani township, this dates the original part of the name back to late 1600, but I am not able to establish a link back to my surviving relatives in Chiusa Sclafani, as the name is unusual I think that we are all related. Can any one help?
Further I am not able to locate where the surname comes from. The theory I have is that it could be from Sciano in the north of Italy.
Any assistance would be really appreciated.

Re: Campisciano
I show a Gioacchino Campisciano in Chiusa in 1675 - do you have this name in either of the Campisciano families you've traced?
