Post by MysteryMike »

Hello,

I'm new to the board, but not to genealogy...

I'm looking for any information on Antonio Cristinziani, born March 10th, 1884 (according to Draft Registration) in Biccari Italy...

Thanks,
Mike

vj,

Thanks, I'm looking more on the other side of the pond for Italian records... I do have the naturalization papers you listed, but thank you again for taking the time...

I currently have the manifest of his original arrival at Ellis Island (1901), his second arrival (1906)... both list him as being born in Biccari... the 1st has him joining his brother Luigi in Brooklyn...

I find Antonio in Philadelphia in the 1910, 1920, and 1930 census'.... he is a barber by trade... his wife's name is Rosa Cortesa/Cartesa... I have their marriage certificate from Philadelphia County. I have the WWII registration card for Antonio (Anthony)... This lists his birthdate as Mar 10, 1884 - which matches census and marriage sources...

I find Luigi (his brother) in the 1910 census in Philadelphia as well.... looks like he was born around 1877

I guess I'm trying to locate information on his parents in Italy and so on down the line....

Thanks
Mike

Hey Mike :D !
Thank you so much for filling us in.
It appears the Family History Library has Biccari
Civil Records on microfilm.
You can order and view them at your local Family
History Center.

Awesome!!! suanj and vj, thanks for all the help.... I emailed the form letter, see if they'll take the request in that form.... (especially with the same surname)...

I'll probably be looking into his wife's family next... Rosa Cortese/Cortesa.... I'd have to look at my files, but I remember her fathers name was Pasquale and mothers name was Anna and they came to the U.S. in 1882 (according to 1910 census)...

Thanks again,

Mike

Well, I didn't get a response to the email.... I guess I need to send off a letter.... Or if I ever had the time to go to a FHC anymore, I could order the films (after learning the Italian language and all)

Does anyone know if there are localized genealogy groups/clubs in Italy...
