I have been doing a lot of research on my Mongelluzzo family from Nusco at the LDS family history center. Pastore is a very common name in the records and if you have not already done so, I would highly recommend you visit a local center and look at the records. I have one Pastore I found in my line so far. It is Carmela Pastore, who married Angelo Iuliano. Their son, Amato Nicola Iuliano was born abt 1868 and was the first husband of my step great grandmother, Maria Carmela Scotti Iuliano Mongelluzzo.

Pastore is a very common name in the records and if you have not already done so, I would highly recommend you visit a local center and look at the records. HI:in order to know better, you demand and watched the microfilm of Nusco from LSD. Moreover you can write to these persons, and write also to Iuliano persons. When the last names are diffuse, probably they are relatives between of they. ...not is better solution that to contact in Italian language persons of interested surnnames

Thank you for the link to the Iuliano information! I do know I have family still in Nusco, but have not contacted anyone there yet. I have made contact with a couple of distant cousins who live near Milan.

Thank you!!!! I have written in Italian to families in Nusco with the Pastore last name, because I know one of the sisters stayed there. I was also told, that the orginal spelling for Pastore was Pastori and was changed coming through Ellis Island. I haven't found anything either way. Thank you for your replies.

I do know that the name is Pastore, not Pastori. I have seen this name many times in the records.

In Italy exist the Pastore surname and also the Pastori surname. In Nusco not are Pastori surname only Pastore..regards, suanj
