vj,

Thanks. I had the 1910 census, the WWI registration and the cemetary.
I was missing the 1920 & 1900 census (I'm not good with soundex) and the ship manifest.
These all look correct.

The story is that Gabriella Giovanna Pampano DeFelice came over with two daughters (Sarafina & Antoinetta). This fits the manifest that you found. Supposedly, on the same ship was Giovanni DeFelice (Father) and Biaggio Ferruci who met the DeFilice's and later married Sarafine in 1900.

Questions:
How do you get the street address off of the census data?
Where did you find the ship manifest. It's not on Ellis Island.

Hi Glenn!
Thanks for the update

The street address is on the left side of the census page
(sometimes you have to go back a page to find the
house number)

I found the manifest on ancestry.com by looking for
Serafina:

Search:
New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957
Ser* (no last name)
Born 1882 +/- 2yrs
Arrival 1892 +/- 2 yrs
Italian
---

I checked Ellis Island (Gold Form)
http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/EIDB/ellisgold.html

Search:
Ship Britannia
Arrival 1892
Date Aug 25

The entire manifest is there, 527 names

Hey Glenn!
I forgot, for addresses sometimes it’s helpful to review
the city directories on ancestry.
I usually just go page by page under the first letter of the
surname in case it’s spelled wrong.
Here’s 2:
1893 New Haven, Ferrucci
1900 New Haven, Felice

Don't know if I can help, but I am Frank C. DeFelice; my decendants are from New Haven, Connecticut; also related to Giovannitti.

Hello Frank,
Are you related to Clara DeFelice LaPia? Perhaps Her sister Mary Defelice Carbone? Claire Lapia Criscola? I am Clara Defelice's granddaughter, Darlene Dioguardi. My mother was Sylvia LaPia and her brother Bill married Anne Biaggio, they are Claire Criscola's parents. Most originated in Bridgeport, and New Haven. My Gram Claire Defelice was born in 1904, and was placed in ST. Anthony's Orphanage in New Haven (Highland Heights) with her brother Joe and perhaps brother John, was also placed, however, it was temporary, as far as I know. Please advise. My parents and grand parents have passed. I have only one child and would like to give him what little history I have.
Respectfully, Darlene Dioguardi (New Haven County) CT.
