Anyone in Salt Lake City,Utah that can assist in LDS search?

Post by whymse »

Hey all,

I was hoping to locate three records from the 1905, 1915 and 1925 New York State censuses. I have the family name and street address and have requested LDS films, but they won't arrive to me in Sydney, Australia in time for my consulate appointment in 3 weeks.

If I have the three film numbers is there anyone in Salt Lake that I could compensate to get me copies of those films in the next 3 weeks?

Thanks.

(as an aside, I am looking for the records for further proof of a surname modification that occurred while the family was in Brooklyn)

Thank you very much for the link. That is the one I used to determine the FHC films that I requested a few months ago. Sydney just changed the way their films are sent from the US to Australia so there is no way those films will be here by the time I need them in late October.

The address was 145 Prospect Street, Brooklyn which using the site you mentioned returns:

1905 - Reel 2 FHL microfilm 1930246
1915 - FHL microfilm 525704
1925 - Reel 1 FHL microfilm 526405

My hope is someone that does on-site genealogy research in Salt Lake could get the census page scans directly from the center on their next visit, and I could pay them for their time.

Thanks.

Peter,

Thank you so much! Your friend was incredibly generous and helpful and was able to locate, scan, and email me the three census records from 1905, 1915, and 1925.
I'm so appreciative of your and his assistance in this matter. The data contained on the records gives further proof that Valiante became Valiando and that my great-great-grandfather naturalized after the birth of my great-grandfather.

Thanks again!

Dear Nuccia I really haven't started but I am consulting with someone in Chicago who are very nice, responsive and gave me all the information I need. They are only charging me for what I ask them to do for me and I am doing what I can on this end which is not too difficult since everything is pretty much cut and dry save for the non-naturalization letter for my grandfather. Hope you are doing OK. =Peter=

No I came across this outfit inChgicago helping people obtain their Italian citizenship and he answered all my questions down to the nub and gave me a aprice for each step so that I can do what I can and he can do what I can't. Now that Italian consulate and Miami does not require any translations except for applicants records in the USA and the certificate of non US naturalization for my grandparents, it is not going to cost very much.

But he clarifiede each step and told me about Plurilingue translations of documents from Italy and no line of succession was neeeded between my father and grandfather so that we can leave out all those aunts and uncles that stood between them.

By the way I am sufficiently cosmopolitan to have entered some daring Chicago Pizza joint and had a Chicago round pan pizza near my home (It didn't last). As of now there is a Portuguese guy that came from South Africa that makes a square flat pizza with standing edges equally thin as the crust with fresh mozzarella balls, some onions and some other items like fresh tomatoes, basil and whatever but it tastes heavenly!!!=Peter=

A slice of pie in Chicago sounds like heaven right now.....

I'd like to make a trip up there, went last July to see an eye specialist,
but my nerves were rather frazzled......as soon as I finished up at the
Docs I headed home.......didn't even bother to stop for pie!!!

I know alot of posters are pursuing dual citizenship, but I have yet to
seriously consider it.......I hope all goes well with your application!!!

I am doing it to satisfy some intellectual inner urge to become a non-hyphenated Italian and to leave my immediate and extended family with a legacy to follow suit if they wish. =Peter=
