That's some pretty handwritting but difficult to read. It looks like Merope to me but I've never heard of that name. She was born Feb. 1,1866. The daughter of Pasquale Mosca & Emere?ziana Genova, dgt. of Francesco.

i had never seen the name before so my curiousity led me to search. here is some information from wikipedia on the name merope.

Merope was the name of several, probably unrelated, characters in Greek mythology.

Merope (daughter), one of the Heliades, daughter of Helios.
Merope, (foster mother) of Oedipus, wife of Polybus of Phaëton by Helios or Clymenus (son of Helios).
Merope (mythology), daughter of the titan Atlas and Pleione.
Merope (Chios), consort/daughter of Oenopion.
Merope, daughter of Cypselos and queen of Messenia.
Merope may also refer to:

Merope, star in the constellation Taurus and a member of the Pleiades star cluster.
1051 Merope, an asteroid.
Merope Riddle (née Gaunt), mother of Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling.
Mérope, a play by Voltaire

WoW!!!! thanks for the information, thank you both for the information. Other then the difficulty of sometimes not being able to read I do agree how beautiful the handwriting is. I wish I could write like that.

We will have to agree then on the name Merope Mosca.
thanks again.

Although rare, Merope is a first name for female.

Merope Mosca was born Feb. 1,1866, in Cingoli (Prov Macerata). She was the daughter of Pasquale Mosca, 27, son of Pacifico, and of Emerenziana Genova, dgt. of Francesco.
