Bozzo/Citrigno
Looking to locate ancestry of Bozzo's & Citrigno's in Italy
Re: Bozzo/Citrigno
Welcome to ItalianGenealogy....
In order to provide help, we need a bit more detail.
Have you located all US records? Have you identified the exact town
of origin? If you are looking to trace ancestry in Italy, all births, marriages and deaths will be in the town of origin.
Can you provide the full name of ancestors in question, date or year of birth, known spouses, children and year of immigration.

Re: Bozzo/Citrigno
I am in Canada and I do have US and Canadian records. It's the Italian ones I'm having difficulty with. I have been to the cemetery in Donnici Cosenza Calabria where my family is from - both Bozzo & Citrigno and as you know, the move the headstones after 50 years, so I have very little information beyond my great grandparents. I do have relatives in Italy that have tried to get records, but have had no luck, I'm not sure how persistent they were or if they were looking in the right places.wldspirit wrote:Welcome to ItalianGenealogy....

I have heard from others on the internet that the name Bozzo originates in Camogli, but I have nothing to link my family to this town. Our family lore is that two Bozzo brothers from the north settled, one in Donnici, the other in San Ippolito.
The Citrigno's there is very little trace of them, which is why I started looking outside of Italy, I assume if they have been in Italy for some time, there would be more of them - perhaps an incorrect assumption, I don't know.
What I know is this;
Bruno Citrigno dob - 5-19-1849
married to
Marianna Bozzo dob - 1855
all died in Donnici
Felipe Bozzo dob - 1845
married to (1874)
Marianna citrigno dob - unknown
all died in Donnici
As you can see I have both names on both sides of the family to make it a little trickier!
Re: Bozzo/Citrigno
Have you consulted microfilmed records, assuming the town of interest has been filmed?
Usually, once civil records have been exhausted, the next step would be parish records.
