need help locating family Fuoco, Costanza, Tallarico, Apa

Post by Conti832 »

please help me get some information on my family. My grandmother and grandfather came over in the late 20's from Cosemi, Calabria. My nunny's maiden name is Costanza, and she had a sister Dora Tallarico. Her one sister Mary Perry came with her. They both died when I was young. My father Raymond Fuoco also died young in 1977 at the age of 39. His father Joseph died when he was 17. We also have the Apa's as cousins. When I went to rome last year, I by total luck, stayed at the Art Mary, Via Milazzo, and there was a bar down the street, Named Bar Fuoco.
I was somewhat able to communicate with my horrible Italian and we are, I think cousins. Any more help would be appreciated.

What were your grandparents names?
Where did they live?
When were they born?

Any other specifics you can give would help.

Peter, Do you think he means Cosenza?? There are a few Fuoco from Rogliano, Cosenza, Calabria Region arriving through Ellis in the 1910's.

It is possible that the town is Colosimi in the province of Cosenza. There are a few Fuocos from there on the Ellis Island site.

There are 18 people with that name living there today.

Misbris is correct it is Colosimi. Also my wife is The Fuoco. She posted this.So not to confuse my posts on my family from Pofi.

Pretty amazing thing is.While in Rome we were getting ready to leave our hotel and go to Pofi to see my family when someone told us of a Bar Fuoco right down the street from the hotel,we went there really not expecting much.

My wife took out some pictures to show them of Her family when all of a sudden the man started laughing a pointing to a picture. It was of him.She found a cousin a long way from Cosenza.

There are a lot of Fuoco from Cosenza, some from Colosimi but one in particular I noticed was a

Camillo Fuoco who arrived with a Angleo Costanza and both were heading to British Columbia Canada, they arrived on the Konig Albert on Jun 10, 1903.

If you or your wife can provide more inofrmation, such as names and ages we may be able to find something for you.

What records do you have? Do you need census and ship's manifests? Are you looking just for Italian records?

My great grandpa was Paulo Talarico. He listed on his naturalization intent that he was born in Colosomi in 1873. He stated that he arrived in NY in 1888 in june. His Father was listed as Nicholas. His brother Sebastiano was listed as having been born in Caraci. Any info would be great.
