and was wondering if anyone has ever used this for research or if it's a scam??

Never used the service you describe, but you need to be cautious, there are a lot of scammers. When I hit a wall I first went to www.apgen.org, becuase it will give you good advice about what to expect, how much to pay, the do's and don'ta of hiring someone (particularily when you are overseas).....there is also a search function that will tell you about professionals registered with them and their credentials...in doing a quick search I came across this guy...

BUT there are also several professionals on this site as well and perhaps they may be interested or may know of someone too......

I was not inspired by the paucity of information of the purveyors of immigration research. They seem to want your information before they will even identify themselves beyond a company name which is not the way most business is conducted. Are they hiding from the tax man? =Peter=

The genealogy search at Italy World Club legitimate and is run from Italy. Inquiries are distributed to various researchers/genealogists on location in Italy (that's why they give specific regions). I am one of them. No rates are given on the site because we each have our own rates.
