Hi,
My maternal grandmother's surname was Aiello (Giovanna), but her family was from Messina. She married and moved to Liguria. A very long shot that it's the same family, I think.

Castellammare del Golfo is inthe Trapani Province of Sicily and there are micorfilm records at your nearest Mormon Family History Library covering all births, marrioages and deaths from 1820 to1910 which you can rfent for about $5.00 (go to wwww.familysearch.org for the location nearest you.

Bring aliong the book Discovering Your Italian Ancestors by Lynn nelson and a magnikfying glass since the records are handwritten. You will find all the Aiellos and others in your family all the way back to 1820.

Boscorele does not exist. I believe it is Boscoreale. You may visit this site http://en.comuni-italiani.it/063/008/ (in English), to have some info about this town.

My father's last name is Aiello. His first name is Anthony. His parents are Joseph Aiello and Josephine (Aiuto). His father was from Mundi San Giuliano Sicily and his mother from Sandito Sicily.

Does anyone know where I can find more info about them?

If that is the case and you want to start a family tree then instead of giving you bits and pieces you may wish to do your own free Italian Genealogy Research by going to http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwi ... earch.html

Tips for writing a family history:

http://genealogy.about.com/od/writing_f ... /write.htm

http://www.familychronicle.com/writing.html

By going to google, you can put the name of the town in the search engine,
pulling up interesting facts about that place as well as images of the town.

........and if you are not sure of the spelling of the place in Italy you are seeking go to www.prontoimprese.it and to the left is the alphabet so just pick our the first letter of the town you think you want and see how it is spelled and if there is another name before or after it( like Santa something or Marina gioso) but you do not know it then just go to the region listed below and it will give you the name of every town in that region.

So you do not even have to know the province just what areas or areas you think the town is located and you can zero in quickly to see if it is there or not. =He who talks to the wind=
