Massa Martana / Gualdo Cattaneo - Perugia

Post by JoBuj »

Surname Pagliocchini
Paris Pagliocchini and Italia (Brandesi) and son Giuseppe arrived Ellis Island 1902/03 destination Princeton NJ they list Isernia as residence on ship manifest.

Brother Pio to Ellis Island destination Princeton NJ 1904

Cousin Pompelio arrived Ellis Island 1908 destination Pittsburg PA then went to Canada to cousin (Bianchi). He died there.

Nephew Primo came to Ellis Island destination Wash DC

Paris returned to Italy approx late 1930's early 40's.

My search is for a Morte record of Paris Pagliocchini and possibly his son August he disappeared in late 30's and may have returned to Italy with father or gone to Canada with cousins. There are Pagliocchini's in BC Canada.

Any info would help. I believe Isernia is not in Perguia/Umbria region is there a city that would be a close spelling to this?

I don't know Peter. That is what I had originally thought, but all information leads back to Perguia.

Maybe they listed Isernia as the last place they were before boarding as sometimes happens.

I am hoping Paris (and possibly August) returned to Perguia area to other relatives.

I did not know if there was a village or hamlet in the Perguia with Isernia in the name.

I do not have a listing of birthplace for them.

I believe Perguia area because of all the relatives listed- brother, cousin and nephew all came from this area Gualdo Cattaneo and Massa Martana.

Why don't you go to the family history library of the mormon church nearest your home and rent out the mirofilm for both towns and see if you can locate their births in the towns. The civil records normally go up to 1900-1910. Peter
