Giuliano, Giuliani, Julius,Zulian, Jiulian, Julian, Iuliano.

Looks like all these Last names derive from the same place. Mine happens to be Giuliano.
Does anyone know where the name originates?

Apparently our ancestors are the Julius as in Julius Caesar. Is this correct? Anyone??

Can I hire someone to do some research?

There are several people here who do research. It just depends on what type of research you are interested in. The best thing for you to do is to go through the posts and read them. You will get an idea on who specializes in what.

As for your name..this site might help:

Ciao again nuccia,
I am tracking someone down here in Sydney, Australia.
I want to track my family as far back as possible. I have tracked back to my Great Great Grand Father.

It is usually best to hire someone in the area where your family are from as the records differ in different parts of Italy and a local researcher who knows what records are available will save time and money.
You must know the town of origin to begin your search. The surnames you quoted are found all over Italy.
You might decide to do some of the search yourself in the microfilms of the Mormon Church. www.familysearch.org.

I once met a guy with the last name Juliano, and he spelled his last name different than his brother's in New York. His brother spelled his name Giuliano. He said the family was from Napoli.

I have also been researching Giuliano. My family comes from Riesi. If you find that your family comes from Riesi let me know as I have already ordered some records.

I went to my local family center. Go to familysearch.org it's through the church of latter day saints. But if we are searching the same people I don't mind sharing my info with you.

Hi guys, what a response.

My grandmother's name was Rita Giuliano! Though maiden name of Castellano.

Here in Australia there are no place to search for these things. We have to look in the Italian Church Records.

My family is from Napoli and can trace it back to about 1880.

Me Daniele Giuliano
My Father Federico Giuliano
My Grand Father Gennero Giuliano
My GG Father Federico Giuliano Born around 1880.

Jenn Where abouts is Riesi?
Maybe we are related some way back.

OK, your the Giuliano from Sicilia. Maybe relative of "Bandito Giuliano"!

We are Giuliano from Napoli, which at one stage went through the "Camorra" line. My Grandfather's line.

Dear Barbalatte do youmean that the Mormon family history library nearest your home in Sydney OZ has no facility to order micorfilm of civil records from your family town of origin in Italy? This does not seem corfrect. If you go to www.famuilysearch.org you can locate the Family History Library nearest your home and call them about ordering micropfilm. =Peter=
