I'm going to take a stab as you are obviously concerned about these people.

I received your email, thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers, we are all well, in Serravalle if you already heard, there was a lot of damage and as of now more than 100 people are dead. The earthquake was strongest in the city of L'Aquila in Abruzzi, about 300 km. (I don't know the conversion) south of Pesaro.

There is a lot of fear, but we hope that it is over and that God will help us.

Yesterday I was in Rome, I attended the Papal Mass in the Vatican in St. Peter's , I sent you a postcard and I thought of you and your family.

Thank you so much for your "closeness"(?) a hearfelt embrace to you and Lance.

The Italians can improve upon this I'm sure but I wanted to know what was going on.

My thoughts are with all affected by this tragedy,

Thank you so much for your quick reply. Yes, I was very concerned. I just "found" my Italian family and even without yet meeting they have become an important part of my life. The kindness of everyone on this board is overwhelming. Thank you!

Qnana's translation is very accurate but I would like to strengthen out that the email states that in Serravalle the earthquake was very weak.
