Looking for Farfaglia information.

Post by Nemo089 »

Hi, I just joined, this is my first time here. My name is Dan Farfaglia and I live in Upstate New York. I came across my last name here and decided to see if I had any distant relatives online. My family also came from Castiglione Sicily. Isodore (Theodore) Farfaglia was my Great-Grandfather. His sister's name was Carmela Farfaglia Marino. Their Father's name was Concetto Farfaglia. That is all I know. I am anxious to learn more and to see if anyone can assist me. Feel free to write to me at Nemo089@yahoo.com. Thnaks...Dan

The necessity for a town of origin and the websites for uncovering information on your family startinmg with the immigration of your ancestor and working back to Italy and the town of orign for records, documents and possible relatives. There is also a fmaily history library of the Mormon church that has microfilms of civil records for each towns records of birth, marriages and deaths and family composition. Should you wish to pursue your research your purchasing the book titled Italian Genealogical Records by Trafford R. Coile which is inexpensive and an easy read will afford you many hours of pleasant research. Peter

If you are certain it is sicily there is only one of some 30= towns with Castiglione as part of the name. In your case there is only one town called CASTIGLIONE DI SICILIA. Postale 95012 in the province of Catania. If you go to ww.paginebianche.it and insert the surname in the first line and the town name in the third line and clcik CERCA you may find persons with your surname who may be related. Peter
