Applying for an Italian passport directly in Italy (Genova)

Post by Darig »

Hi All,

I have few questions and i will appreciate your inputs:

-It is possible to apply for the italian passport directly in Italy (Genova) and if so, it is possible to go with a tourist visa an do it?.

-How Long it takes ?.

-Appart from the birth certificates/marriage certificates/etc, are there any other requirements?.

-Do I have to go to my comuna ? or this has to be done in the capital of the province ? (ex. If my family is from Savona do i have to apply in savona or in Genova?).

-Is any page where I can look for the information?

Thanks in advance,

There are several threads on this topic at www.expatsinttaly.com But you do need to officially reside in Italy to apply jure sanguinis.
