Hi I need some help. I found a 1920 Census, 1930 Census and Draft card information for my GF born 4 june 1896 in Castellammare del Golfo Sicily. Paperwork states he came to America in 1903 at age 7. Can not find any manifests with his name on it. My GGF's paperwork shows he was married when he came to America in 1906 and was 33 years old so his estimated year of birth would have been 1873 also born in Castellammare del golfo Sicily. But his manifests show he was traveling alone...any suggestions? Already check Ellis island.com, Ancestory.com., familysearch.org
I'd appreciate any help anyone might have for me.

My Grandfather...James (Giacomo) Badamo
Re: My Grandfather...James (Giacomo) Badamo
Immigrants frequently came by themselves, leaving their family behind, got a job and such, and then went back to bring the family.
Re: My Grandfather...James (Giacomo) Badamo
Can you give us a little more info. What was your ggrandfather's name? His wife's? Were there any other children? Where did they settle?
Re: My Grandfather...James (Giacomo) Badamo
you sure that the first name was Giacomo??? Many italian immigrants used James for italian Vincenzo first name...
saying so because a Vincenzo Badami/o with Maria Palazzolo mother and Maria and Francesco sibling travelled in USA in 1906( Vincenzo not travel -crossed) joining at Mariano Badami/o in Brooklyn...

Re: My Grandfather...James (Giacomo) Badamo
Wow thank you. I will check Vincenzo I was told Giacomo was used for James.
Suanj...this last lost does sound familiar to my Mom. Unfortunately my day passed away in 1974 and as an adult I have a lot of questions. I believe those are the names of my Dad's Aunts and Uncles. And my ggf Mariano his wife's name was Mary. Thanks again for everyones help.
Any suggestions on Birth or marriage certificates?

Re: My Grandfather...James (Giacomo) Badamo
Suanj,
Thank you so much you have been most helpful. I was wondering though how you came across the marriage information for my GF? I know he was married twice. With his first wife he had 3 children, one being my Dad. My GM unfortunately committed suicide and my GF remarried and had 4 more children. I'm assuming the marriage record you found was to my Dad's Mom since he was born in 1922. I know you gave me a #8053 but I can't view any documents with that #. Do I need to request them from the county he was married in?
Thank you again for all your help.
