translation question

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

translation question

This might be a dumb question but does a translation service need to have your original documents to translate them? I see that some just ask for copies. Is this ok? Not sure what the Italian embassy wants.

thanks!

I wouldn't send original documents to the translation. You can fax a copy or send a photocopy. The Italian consulate will not know that the translation was made from a copy; nor would they care.
