Hi Ralph, the Giuseppe Carbone/a arrived in 1920 declared as birthplace Barcellona .. already in USA from 1913 to 1915....ralphresta wrote:Yes that's the info I have so far. I believe his brother was married to a woman name Margaret as I remember going to Pa as a kid and visiting an aunt Margaret.
I believe Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto in Messina province, Sicily, IT..
maybe the immigration record of 1920 is no correct;
Giuseppe Carbone is a popular name...
also matching not with the WWI draft registration card, because YOUR Giuseppe Carbone was in USA at time; instead the Giuseppe Carbone/a born in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto was not in the USA around WWI.....
Your ancestor married in Manhattan in 1919:
Carbone Giuseppe May 18 1919 #14372 (1919) Manhattan
Brescia Pasqualina* May 18 1919 #14372 (1919) Manhattan
(* Lena Brescia)
so, second my opinion the WWI and WWII and the censuses found by friends here are correct and the arrival of 1920 is no correct, because no pertaining your ancestor.... but another person with same name (abt) and same birthyear (abt) but no same birthplace...
because you saying that your ancestor was born in Apice....
Let us know your suggestions,
best regards,
