You also have to hold down the alt key.aliza24 wrote:Squigy- sorry I got your two comments mixed it. And thanks for explaining. I found the numbers you were talking about on the keys but it still doesn't work. Mamma mia!
So if I got you right- you're supposed to hold down the Function key, type in the numbers (from keyboard, not above), then you type the letter you want the accent on ?
Is that right?

Mixed up. Typo. Geez- I can't even type in English today. LOL
Re: Problems making Italian accents on my computer
That didn't work either. Are you supposed to let go of alt and function when you type the letter? Well, I guess it doesn't matter actually because I tried both and neither worked.
Re: Problems making Italian accents on my computer
You hold alt and function, type in the code, and then let go. For some reason, the A didn't work for me. Try the other letters, just so we can tell if it's a problem with that particular code.aliza24 wrote:That didn't work either. Are you supposed to let go of alt and function when you type the letter? Just tried the e. That one didn't work either.
This is really starting to get on my last nerve! I don't know why it's not working on my computer. It obviously is working for other people.

You could try this. Write the message here, then copy and paste it where you want it.

Many thanks cowry! That'll definitely work until I sort this problem out.
And thanks to everybody else too!

That link is great because you can do characters in so many other languages too- without having to figure this junk out!
Re: Problems making Italian accents on my computer
You can cut-and-paste from the Character Map application or use it to figure out the ALT+### keyboard equivalent.
