Thank you, Marty. This looks like the wrong occupation and location. Ferdinando lived in Philadelphia then and his occupation is variously listed as "bootblack," "shoemaker," or "haberdasher."

I have not found a WWI registration for him, however. He probably had too many children to be drafted, but he would have had to register anyway. If it's his age, I think he may have been under 45 by the war. So this leaves a misspelled name on an index.

I have started going through the images themselves; this will take a while!

by this Birth record:

Salvatore Nocito

Pennsylvania, Philadelphia City Births

Name Salvatore Nocito
Event Type Birth
Event Date 08 Aug 1904
Event Place Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
Gender Male
Father's Name Ferdinando Nocito
Mother's Name Rosa Turana

Ferdinando was in Philadelphia in 1904, so the arrival records abt other people with very similar name, cannot referred to your Ferdinando, because your Ferdinando in 1904 was already married and with a child.. https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VBTV-TFW

Wonderful! This helps me put some of the pieces together.

But how did you find him under "Megget"? Thank you so much!

Hi.

Just came across this thread. Wanted to see if anyone knew of a Carmela Angelina Cerruti, Paterson NJ. She had two brothers, Frank and Andy. I am her granddaughter but never met her as she died before I was born. I believe she was born somewhere around 1910
