You two are SO wonderful!! :D

suanj- yes, these are quite possibly my ancestors...I will check into it some more. After looking over the information again, I may be mistaken that Florindo was Giovanni's son...he could have been a nephew instead. I have found records of two different Felices, one born ca. 1876, and the other ca. 1882, which matches the birthdate of the one you found. This one is most likely the Felice I'm looking for...THANK YOU!

vj- I don't know why I overlooked the information above Giulietta's name! Yes, this is the Giuseppe I'm looking for, though I was mistaken of his last name. Now I know that Giulietta was certainly Giovanni's daughter, and not his daughter-in-law! THANK YOU!

I appreciate your help so much!

Yes, I'm having trouble locating Giulietta Cefalo and her husband Francesco Santosuosso in the censuses and manifests. Would there be other spelling variations of his name?

shiffy-
AHA! So YOU'RE the Southern Cefalos! I have come across several names in the New Orleans area in my research, back to ca. 1905 or so. My GGF performed in the South for a time, and I had always wondered if there was a link to this family. Do you have this information on them, or would you like me to share what little I have?

Thanks to all of you,
Kelly

shiffy-

I have several censuses from 1880 - 1930 on the Louisiana (New Orleans) Chifalos/Cefalos, some marriage and birth dates, and censuses from 1910 - 1930 Shifalos in Mississippi. Feel free to PM me, and I will send you these documents if you don't already have them. You will be able to view them with Adobe.

shiffy-

Here is some information that I have. The files I have are too large, and I can't attach them, so here is a run-down:
[hr][hr]
-Joseph Shifalo, m. Mary Louisa Selph, 25 Dec 1889, Hancock County, MS

-Guiseppina Cefalo, m. Gioacchino Pecoraro, Oct. 1893, LA

-John Cefalo, b. 22 Aug 1880 to Toney and Mary Golotta Cefalo, LA

-Antoinette Chifalo, b. 02 Jun 1872, and Antone Louie, b. 14 Sep 1874 to Antone and Anna Hobbiejanszen Chifalo, LA

-Joseph and Louisa Shifalo, 1910 Census, Hancock Co., MS, Children: Margaret, Tony, Ella, Rachel, Eva.

-Jubri (?) Shifalo, 1930 Census, Hancock Co., MS, Children: Elmo (?), Edna Pearl, J. Rose

-Antonio and Anna Chifalo, 1880 Census, New Orleans, LA

-Roy and Mary Cefalu, 1920 Census, Washington Co., LA

-Sam and Mina Cefalo, 1930 Census, New Orleans, LA

-Matilde and Josephine Chifalo, step-children to Carlo and Mamie Galliana, 1920 Census, St. Mary Co., LA
[hr][hr]

So far, it doesn't appear that any of these families are connected to mine, but that could change the further back I go, of course!

If you need anything else, let me know.

Kelly
