It's still doable, but has to be approached a different way. I'm hoping there will end up being an easy way to do it. Meanwhile, in Chrome here is what you can do.
EDIT
I just noticed that the way the site shortens the urls, you won't see the entire url structure with all the necessary data in the post below. Copy the links onto notepad, wordpad, word processing program, etc. to see the full links.
1. Navigate to the image that you want by scrolling through or using the thumbnails. At left be sure that you do this with the "informazione" link or go there through the thumbnails tool above the images. If you use "indice" option at left it won't work.
2. Look at the url of your desired image for the last section of the address, following that last slash. Example: https://www.antenati.san.beniculturali. ... 73/Lz629JG
In this case, the last section is Lz629JG. This is the critical piece.
3. Now you need to create a link to the manifest image manually. Use the following format below as your starting point.
https://iiif-antenati.san.beniculturali ... efault.jpg
4. In my format above, replace the stars with the "Lz629JG" from your specific image address. The url you end up with in my example is https://iiif-antenati.san.beniculturali ... efault.jpg
5. From there you can click on the link or paste it into your browser.
An inelegant solution, but works to get the high resolution images. After you've done it a couple of times, it's really not all that bad. As Antenati tweaks things, I hope they'll upgrade from "not all that bad."

Thank you. I will try this.

I was able to use this method successfully with Firefox, but not with Google.bbivona wrote: 21 May 2022, 15:23 It's still doable, but has to be approached a different way. I'm hoping there will end up being an easy way to do it. Meanwhile, in Chrome here is what you can do.

For some reason, Google does not show the entire URL in the address bar. Google truncates the address before the unique, page specific information.
Thank you very much, though. Your instructions work great!

true! me tooAlexKN wrote: 14 May 2022, 13:56 As of May 13, 2022, this solution is no longer working for me. I get a message saying that I do not have appropriate permissions to access the IIIF manifests.

Re: Saving high resolution records on Antenati?
Yes, Google Chrome does that. Note my workaround that I put in the post. That section is above. When I'm working with the Antenati documents this way I just keep wordpad open. Copy the link there and work with it there, then copy and paste back to Chrome.RPOZ51 wrote: 29 May 2022, 20:26I was able to use this method successfully with Firefox, but not with Google.bbivona wrote: 21 May 2022, 15:23

Ah, okay. I guess I misunderstood. Chrome doesn’t show the whole URL, but it’s there.bbivona wrote: 07 Jun 2022, 14:42Yes, Google Chrome does that. Note my workaround that I put in the post. I tried what you suggested, and it works great.
Thank you very much, again!
Re: Saving high resolution records on Antenati?
for me the best way is one already suggested
just copy the last group of letters on the right of the image address
example:
https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 44/wOKy7br
copy wOKy7br
then substitute the xxxxxx in the following address, with the letters copied
https://iiif-antenati.cultura.gov.it/ii ... efault.jpg
will became
https://iiif-antenati.cultura.gov.it/ii ... efault.jpg
and you will obtain the address of the full image, just left click on the image and dowload it..

I've been getting good results by screen printing the page I want and pasting it into Paint, then cropping it, and finally saving it to the folder I want it in.
